I Love Raggedy Ann's and this one by Melissa is absolutely adorable.  Since the colours lent themselves to a patriotic feel, I decided to make this a Happy 4th of July card.

Getting to Know Candace

Hi everyone!! It's Candace here to tell you a little more about myself today. 

1. Favorite saying.

"When life gives you lemons, thank God you're from the South, and put 'em in your sweet tea."

This quote may seem silly, but it says a lot about me. I've been going around saying it for years. It speaks about my determination, my pride in being a Southerner, my personal faith, and my love for sweet tea. :)

2. What is the first thing you see to your right?

3. What do you collect, other than designer paper & card stock?

Dust? LOL

I don't really collect anything, but I do have quite a few Willow Tree angels that people have given me. I love anything with bright colors, cupcakes, or fleur-de-lis stuff (see answer to next question).

4. Favorite sport and/or team to watch.

New Orleans Saints football! 

5. What is your guilty pleasure?

Cupcakes. I love them! I love to bake and cupcakes are my favorite thing to bake.

6. Do you snack when you create?  If so, what is it?

Not usually. Every now and then I will keep some chocolate at my desk, but not often because I'm always scared I'll get something on my card. However, I always have a Coke Zero at my stamp desk with me!

7. If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?

Does a Disney princess count? They always have happy endings!

8. A funny/quirky/odd thing about you...

I've never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Two of my toes are grown together.

I can't stand for leftover time to be on the microwave.

I teach English, but I say "y'all" 100 times a day. It's the Southerner in me. 

Oh, that was more than one, wasn't it? I guess I'm kind of quirky. :)

9. When you're not playing with paper, what are you doing?

Teaching - I'm a 7th and 8th grade English teacher. 

Watching a random assortment of TV shows (Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva, Teen Mom, Young & the Restless, Swamp People, and Duck Dynasty). I told you it was random. 

Reading on my Kindle

Sitting on the couch playing on my laptop

Baking something sweet in the kitchen

My life is VERY interesting. ;)

10. Finish this sentence:  "I love everything about..."

Stamping. It's given me some amazing opportunities. I've had the pleasure of serving on several design teams and making amazing friends. Also, it's so special to give someone a handmade card, and I love that!

Favorite Saying:

 Thanking God for your trials as well as your blessings because he is developing your character through these trials. So Dance and be happy because God loves you and will take care of your needs. 

What Do You See When You Look To Your Right:

My cell phone of course, who can live without one these days?

What do you collect, other than designer paper & card stock?

Snowmen!! At Christmas my house is full of them all shapes and sizes. I take my tree down after Christmas but I leave my snowmen put through the winter. Oh and I have also seemed to collect Ribbon and buttons too..lol

Favorite sport and/or team to watch:

Hockey, Hockey, Hockey! 

My favorite team is the Maple Leafs. Since moving to Colorado I have become an Av's fan 

and of course who can live in Colorado and not be a Broncos fan.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate!!!

Do you snack when you create? If so, what is it?

Not always but when I do it's Cheese-Its or Peanut M&M's 

along with some sweet tea

If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?

Pooh because he has such a big heart and everybody loves Pooh :)

A funny/quirky/odd thing about you...

When I sleep I have to have my feet out from under the covers no matter how cold it is

When you're not playing with paper, what are you doing?

Spending time with the hubs, playing with my dog or curled up with my nook

The Outdoors, whether it's the beach, the mountains, the lake, or the backyard. I love being outside/nature.

  I love to go hiking and camping and spending time with my family and marveling at the beauty of God's masterpieces..

What is your favorite card/project you've created using Meljen's designs?

2 Cute 4 Words

Using "A Girl and Her Overalls"

For this card I tried to keep an Outdoorsy Feel to it by using  a "Barnboard" DP and flowers. A real sweet image and fun to colour.

What a lovely card, Nancy!  I love the scallops and pretty flowers!

Getting to know more about "Lisa"

1. Favorite saying. My favorite saying is "you may stumble over a stone but, still climb a mountain". I love this quote. It reminds me that struggle is part of the journey. My failure teaches me much more than my success.

2. What is the first think you see to your right? My bulletin board. On that board are lots of things that I love and that inspire me. Pictures of my daughter and I, pictures of my dogs, and projects my daughter has made for me.

3. What do you collect, other than designer paper & card stock? I collect dog agility ribbons. I have them from when I first started competing in agility almost seven years ago. I finally boxed up Maddie and Panda's ribbons when they retired last year. Now Pearls are on display:) They remind me of the fun I had working as a team with my dogs and all our accomplishments.

4. Favorite sport and/or team to watch? I love watching women's sports. My favorite is the Phoenix Mercury WMBA basketball team. We go to many games each season. "Mighty Mercury!!!". The sport I watch the most of is volleyball. My daughter has been playing since 5th grade. She plays varsity during the fall and club volleyball the rest of the year. She is an inspiration:)

5. What is your guilty pleasure? Taking a bath, reading a book, and having a cocktail. I love being up to my neck in bubbles, reading a good book and having a drink and relaxing. My dogs love this and will try to sneak up on me to give me a kiss or stand on the side of the tub and look in to make sure I am ok. I love also to eat rice crispy treats hot from the pan. My husband makes the best ones. Super yummy!

6. Do you snack when you create? If so, what is it? I usually have my dessert when I create. I love M&M's particularly the almond ones or the dark chocolate.

7. If you were a cartoon character, who would you be? Buttercup the Power Puff Girl. She is feisty and a spit fire. I will do anything to stand up for and protect the ones I care about. Dosen't matter if it is my family, friends, my dogs, or important issues to me. I would love to have a cape and be able to fly like Buttercup. I could accomplish so much more in a day.

8. A funny/quirky/odd thing about you... It would be easier to say what is not quirky about me lol;) I am interested in learning everything. My bucket list includes riding one of those cool lawn mowers over hilly grass to cut it and learning how to cut hedges into round and square shapes. I love the smell of my corgi's feet. Smells just like Fritos. I have lots of food allergies. I cannot eat meat or animal products. I never had the chicken pox and couldn't get the vaccine because it was made out of chicken. That's some irony.

9. When you're not playing with paper, what are you doing? Training my dogs either in basic obedience, tricks, or dog agility. Pearl and I spend much time in classes, at the dog gym and competing in dog agility. It is my passion. I also spend alot of time quilting and doing machine embroidery.

10. Finish this sentence: "I love everything about..." I love everything about dogs. They give me so much love and comedic relief.

I know it's not Christmas time, however, my most favorite project I ever made with MelJen's digital stamps is this wall hanging. I used lots of dimentionals, glitter glue, and rhinestones. I had the best time making this and every year at Christmas time when I hang it on my wall, I am proud of what I created.
