A Shabby Chic Dimond In The Rough

The above photo is what you see when you walk into my studio. When we moved to Colorado we have a basement and I have a nice big studio now. It is a diamond in the rough, we are finishing it as we have the extra money and we haven't had much of that lately, so I have imaginary walls. The table is my old dining room table where I do my coloring and scrapbooking.  I am wanting to find chairs of different styles to go around it, and then paint them fun colors. I have two four more to go.
This is my prettiest wall, the hubs put up a drop cloth so it looks like a wall. The dresser is where I store my Unity and stampin Up stamps and my beads and such in the smaller drawers. The sheves next to it is all my card making cardstock, this will go in my closet when I get one. The smaller piece beside that is where I store my scrapbooking cardstock.

the pink and brown organizers is where I keep my clear stamps such as Sweet 'n Sassy and Verve. These will also go in my closet when I get one. The small drawers beside that is where I keep more 8.5 X 11 cardstock, vellum and rub-on's.
these two have alot of goodies in them the one on the right has my Unity KOM and mailing supplies
I had the hubs glue this corkboard on the doors and had fun with my brads
This is how I store my stickles
This is how I store my Copic markers,. I had bought two of those shelves made just for Copics and when I was waiting on them to arrive I found this and I love it because I can just carry it with me to crops.  Never even used the shelves.
My Dad made this ribbon holder. But he made it as a feed holder for his quail, as soon as he quit raising quail I asked him for it. Perfect ribbon holder don't ya think?
Saw this n Pinterest and had to copy. Love storing my glitter in old salt shakers
Another Pinterest idea the hubs made for me, only my imaginary wall won't hold them fight now.
Buttons in one and ribbon on old clothespins in the other
Are you getting tired of looking and reading yet? We are almost done. This is two things I can't do without. My Vagabond and my Janome Sew Mini. The frame above the hubs made for me too.
This is my favorite corner. We came across this old fainting couch and my hubby redone it for me. We found the vintage light above it at a resale shop. The couch is comfy too, after making card I lay here and read a book.

This is my card making table and of course my furbaby, Willis underneath. He is either playing with his toys (you can see in the first picture, he never picks them up) laying in his bed or here under my feet.
I hope you have enjoyed my diamond in the rough. I love the shabby chic/Vintage style and my husband has helped me achieve this look. All of my shelves my sweet husband built and finished for me, all of my furniture with the exception of my desk and the piece my sewing machine is on he refinished for me. I love going to junk stores and fining pieces of furniture because he can make all of them match,.
Hopefully one day soon I will show you with real walls :)

Gina's had a GREAT Month!

Well, the time has come to bid farewell to another guest designer!  I do wish the months were longer!

Gina has been a lot of fun to have around this month and I have enjoyed sharing her designs with you!

Here are her final designs and they are fantastic!

I totally love this image, but I'll admit that I had a hard time with my design. I had all these ideas but they were not coming together at all. I actually had to set it aside for a while and work on something else and come back to it later. In the end, I am happy with it. I think she is super cute and makes me feel like I am on the beach with her!

I've been on a total Halloween kick for the last 2 weeks, so I made these too! Maybe this year I'll have all my cards finished on time and actually sent out before the holidays pass!

Well, it has been a true honor designing for Melissa, The Team and all the fans. I hope you enjoyed my creations and found them inspiring! Until next time, let the creativity flow and be crafty! {hugs}

Jessica's Crafty Corner

Hey all, it's me, Jessica. I am here to share  my crafting space with you today. Unfortunately I am not blessed to have my own room, in fact I have to share my desk with my husband. UGG. The upstairs in our house is one giant room  separated into a sleeping area, a dressing area and then our "office" area.

I got this lovely little corner to house all my stuff in. Not alot of room and half of my stuff is shoved under the desk and in the drawers of my desk. I have been slowly going through everything to determine what   products I still use and need and ultimately what I want to do with the space. Half the time I have no idea where anything is.

Here are some awesome ideas I found on Pinterest that I am thinking of recreating for my corner.

So on these I love the idea of doing a pegboard to hold more things. this would free up my shelves and keep things in sight. I wonder if my hubby would be up for making this for me. Hmmmmm.

Let me know if you have any awesome storage tips and ideas for me.

THANKS

Robin's Craft Room

Here are three pictures of my craft room, where I can create fabulous and fun creations using Meljen's Design images.  This is a small little room that was a previous porch and with the many windows give me just the inspirations I need.  My MOST  favorite tools are my Cuddlebug, Spellbinder Dies and Copic markers.

Another (NEW) Meljen’s Blog!

Hi everyone! This is Melissa, the artist (for those of you who might not know me very well yet!) … I wanted to pop in and let you all know that I have re-opened a blog for myself, and I am going to be sharing shop news & updates, announcing other Meljen’s products, and sharing works in progress (from my sketchbook!) there.

{ Click here to visit my new blog – remember to follow it! }

I barely opened it over the weekend, but I have a couple notes there about the changes that happened with the shop, what the new shopping cart has to offer, and a little note that I added to my Terms of Use page today.

I’ll keep popping in here to help remind you all that direct Meljen’s Designs news will be available at my blog, so you won’t miss out. :-)

This current blog (the one you’re reading now!) by the Meljen’s Team will still have weekly challenges & lots of BEAUTIFUL creations from the team gals! They will also continue to show creations made for new releases and help announce that, so please continue to read here as well!

Enjoy, and have a lovely day!

Beaches and Burgers with Gina!

Hiya!
Gina's got 2 of my favorite things to share today!

Beaches and Burgers!  Whoo Hoo!

Beach Kitten
Beach Kitten is so cute!! I've titled this card "Hey Gillfriend!" The paper I used is Blissful by Authentique, it inspired the color theme I went for on this project. Typically when I create I make my focal piece and build the card around it. I actually love this paper and was inspired to create Miss Kitty and her Beach Scene the way I did. This was new to me. I've never been moved by the paper to create a project. This was fun! The ribbon I used is from The Paper Temptress and is totally beautiful too! I think it really finished off the card.

Big Burger
This is such a wonderful image! It just screams "Let Freedom Ring!" to me! It's All-American. Independence. Burgers. Celebrations. I had to use it as a 4th of July themed card.

Thanks for making me smile, Gina!  I just love these cards!

Hugs,
Dee

Hello everyone!

Do you LOVE Meljen's Designs?

Are you FUN and OUTGOING?

Do you like to CHAT?

We are looking for a few new members to join our team!

Requirements:

We have a chatroom on Facebook and we all like to chat there and it's an easy way to get in touch with any of us.

We are an easy going group, and we understand family life and work and we want crafting and being on our team to be FUN for you!

Our team leaders have an "open door" policy, so if you ever need anything at all, we are always here to fire questions at, make suggestions and if you need help.  Don't hesitate to contact us if needed.

This Design Team call will be open until August 20, 2012.  New team members will be contacted on August 21, 2012 and announced on the blog on September 1, 2012.  The first challenge for our new team members will be September 6, 2012.

How to apply:

Please EMAIL me (Dee) 2 of your favorite creations.  I would LOVE to see anything that you've made using Meljen's Designs images or rubber stamps, so please include at least 1 creation with a Meljen's image.

When you email me, please let me know a little about you, your crafting style and why you would like to be on our team.

I look forward to hearing from you!

My Creating Space

I was so excited when Dianna asked me to share about my Creating Space because we had just converted part of our basement into a Papercrafting Room. My sweet husband painted the walls, put together the shelving units, found this oversized desk and even bought me a super comfy chair. (Yep, he is definitely a keeper!)

I love colour so I decided on green, pink & mauve cubical inserts, which hold a lot of my crafting stuff like brads, embellishments, dies, etc.

My husband loves chocolate covered almonds & I love the containers they come in. Perfect for holding a rainbow of pretty coloured ribbons.

My leftover cardstock and DPs are stored in the 2 plastic filing containers right behind my desk for easy access. New DPs are stacked on top & new cardstock is kept in the file holder on the wall. My sewing machine & threads are just on the other side of my chair. My desk is huge so there is lots of room for my cutter, scor-pal & grand caliber.

I keep most of my buttons in these magnetic spice racks. I also keep a few finished projects out on display...it really helps to encourage me on those days when nothing seems to be coming together very well.

My finished cards are inserted into a clear envelope and tucked away in a basket ready to use when needed. Recognize any of  these cute images?

Finally, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't colour, so I have to say that my Copic Markers & digital images are a must have for me.
Thanks for taking time to visit  My Creating Space.
                                                                      hugs, Nancy
